Hi everyone,
I am heading to Japan in September and will be there for a while, I was thinking about having a custom handmade katana made up. I was just wondering if anyone would know of where I could have it made, any names of swordsmiths I could visit and approximate pricing.

Thanks

How long is "a while"? Unless you're talking about six months or more, you probably won't be able to commission and receive a shinsakuto during your stay.

Unless you need something unusual (like something longer than normal) or have a specific feature you just have to have, finding something already made would probably be easier and cheaper.
