hello, I am Bill Norrid, I belong to Still Point Aikido in Austin Texas. Many years ago, I was looking for a non-violent marshal art for my Grandson. I was directed to Sensi Ross Robinson of Still Point. From my first conversation with him I recognized Aikido as a very important pathway to a better world of the future. It is indeed as Ross Robinson Sensi said, a way of life. I believe that the human owes it to itself to direct its own evolution to a higher order of existence. From the time when we first wondered if we could find a way to protect ourselves from the cold so that we could survive in a hostile but beautiful world, we began to direct nature of our own evolution. Because we have the capacity we must, in order to survive in the future, direct our evolution so that we become better individuals in a better world. Aikido, and the teachings beginning with O'Sensi, provides a pathway to that better world. And, as I was taught, we as a dojo owe it to the purpose and spirit of Aikido, to perpetuate the teachings to the world around us. If we, as individuals become a little bit better, because of (among other things) Aikido, those around us will somehow be influenced in such a way as to cause their worlds to be better. And, if we as a dojo outreach as a dojo, we might collectively cause something in our world to become a better place. And, if we as a dojo (as well as individuals) open our ears eyes and websites, we will continue to find the better things in the world to perpetuate. I could go on, but better stop here. Thank you for allowing me to make my statement.
