Check with your dojo mates. Most of us have equipment that we started with and gradually upgrade to better equipment. We do tend to hang on to stuff but it is also nice to give or cheaply sale something to a friend at the dojo who needs equipment.
This time of year all the equipment sites are having 15-20% sales.
Also, be sure to check right at Christmas because some have big one day sales.

Funny you should ask --- incidentally, I have an Iwama bokken that I wouldn't mind selling (I practice Aikikai, but got the bokken on sale from Bujin Design a few years ago and since then have obtained a new one for myself); it's in very good condition if you're still interested. I have a macassar ebony bokken for sale that I recently purchased from Aznar. It's on the heavy side (950 grams) and it can be used for subarito practice.

I paid over $200 but I'm willing to accept any reasonable offer. By the way, I also live in Florida.
