If anyone is interested...
Here's a collection I have compiled to help me study when I can't make it to practice.

It's not a substitute for mat time, but I hope to gain insight on entering footwork/hand positions and details like that. Plus just cement the Japanese terms in my teflon-coated memory.
I'd welcome comments on stylistic differences between the different schools/individuals featured in the videos.

Sensei Nishio is a perfect example of how the "weapons" provide greater understanding of the "open hand". He is always thinking about the defense against a weapon that can "kill" (i.e. sword, jo). Therefore, the parameter is always "martial".
This provides a distinct difference between those "forms" that only emphasize the open hand. Said forms use atemi as if it is "separate" from their "form or method". Sensei Nishio is always aware of the "sword" as being integral.
Thank you Diane, for pointing out his tapes. Pretty incredible seeing him in his 40's 50's and then 80's.
Sincerely,
