Heya,

I'm glad to be on this thread- I've been reading some of the remarkable discussions this week and can't wait to continue learning.

I have only trained in Aikido for about 8 months, but I know that it is the martial art for me. I have done a few years in Karate, but really want to train hard in Aikido so that I feel competent/proficient (I'll let you know if I ever get there!)

Also, I am beginning my studies in Conflict Transformation at the School for International Training, and am focused in combining my Aikido studies with my academic studies for my thesis (likely around peace building and youth, a la www.aikiextensions.org.
