While I am noit sure the Kyushu techniques of the first guy are working, and I strongly doubt it. I would like to note a huge difference between his approach and the approach of the "Kiai master".
The first guy is moving and responding to the attacks, and it seems to me if his Kyushu technique would not work, the attacker would still be hit wita strong strike. These were not moves in the air.
