hi my name is derek ,i live in edzell scotland, uk, i have been to variuos types of martial arts clubs ie. karate ,kickboxing, ju jitsu,military style defence, and grapling.i tried out aikido about 5 years ago but unfotunately due to work commit ments and family bereavements i had to stop.fortunately the club i joined is still in operation run by a very dedicated man sensie alec millar in dundee, i was at his club on monday night and i must say i havent enjoyed myself so much for a long time, it was just excellentand the rest of the guys were very helpfull and patient, after searching for some years i think i have found what i like i and i hope to enjoy many years of training with alec andthe rest of the crew. as they say you only find what you need when the tme is right CHEERS AND HELLO TO ALL DEREK.

G'day Derek.

Great to hear you had such an awesome time. I understand what it is like to have a long break from training and then come back. I have been away from Aikido for 9 years due to family commitments!!! Arrgggh... way to long. Just started back a week or so ago. It's unbelievable fun. It is weird in some ways tho.. memories of techniques are very strong in the brain, but my body has somehow not kept up! Still, i figure if it is still lurking round the depths of my mind then it is just a question of time before the body gets back into the swing of it.. heheh.. i hope :)
