Can anyone recommend somewhere (preferably in the UK) that can supply plus-size gis?
I'm obviously losing weight doing Aikido, but I'm always going to be wide and large chested. The one I have at the moment is to tight for me and I've tried a bigger size, but it comes down to my knees!

I know Bujin Design is in the U.S., and being plus size myself, I have found that their dogi provide me the best coverage. Their sizing goes beyond height and weight -- taking all your measurements into consideration. I fully recommend trying them out or at least giving them a call to see how they can accommodate you.

Thanks, Anne Marie. Their options look good.
I'll put them in reserve, but keep looking for a UK option. I could do wthout paying the postage if at all possible.

Could you hem the top or have someone else hem the top?

HI Mary,
I thought a lot about that. And my wife, who's fairly nifty with such things, took a long hard look at the jacket. She decided that it would be fairly risky, because of the design of the jacket - where the bottom part is a different design and there's a slit up the side and so on.

Anne Marie, where do you take your measurements from? I've spoken to Bujin and they've said they could help, but obviously a customised jacket is non-refundable.
The trouble is that when I measure my current gi, I'm not sure it matches up with the measurements they suggest. So, I want to make sure that I'm doing it properly, before I send it off.
