Any students of the 4th way studying Akido ? Would be curious on integration of metaphysical balance negative and positive tri-forces on martial arts study.

While not a student, certainly familiar.
Inclusion and integration is like enter and blend.

Hmmm..."Meeting with Remarkable Men" was moved from this thread. Well, I hope people realize that Gurdjieff wrote the book.

Hi Matt,
I'm not personally studying the 4th way but my good friend and martial arts partner, Jim Mullen, does. He happens to study Ching Yi, Bagua, and Tai Xi; but the intersection of our arts and the amazing cross-over in experience that we have within our practices make us training partners. We both teach, I longer than he, and we often muse in the land of Gurdjeff because it is so integral to his perspective and 'knowing'.
Recently he wrote an article for his schools paper, Reeling Silk, including his perspectives including the 4th way.

I'll see if I can get an online file to offer here.

So, I guess what I'm saying is: yeah, people who look at the 4th way in MA are out there. Or in here, or both, or......well, you get my meaning:) .

Best,
Jen

Fantastic ! Would defintely appreciate your posting of any 4th way article. I have been under instruction from a descendant disciple of Peter D. Ouspensky here in Chicago and recently took up martial arts to refine my centers. Thanks for the reply.

I also posted this down in open discussions, where the conversation has migrated due to traffic control.
Here's an article in AJ.
Funny how conciousness emerges in-sync.

Thanks for posting that, Jennifer. I studied with an Ouspensky group for a time, and have read much of what G and O and a lot of their students (Rodney Collin, JG Bennett, Maurice Nicoll, etc.) have written.

There's an interesting excerpt on eyes (personality and essence) at http://books.google.com/books?id=uaolO_l0h50C&pg=PA62&lpg=PA62&dq=essence+eye+personality+eye&source=bl&ots=XGJQyChvMr&sig=BdE_JszOGbB0hLFjyqtk2ndRe3g&hl=en&ei=Ku-fSZG5HYGCtweHvPWGDQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=1&ct=result#PPA66,M1
