A very close dear friend of mine who passed away a year ago stated to me that a students training is like a living creature that continues to grow, ever changing, learning and adapting through the things it is taught/experiences.

生き物 living thing
竜・龍 dragon (ryu)
流 flow (ryu)

Is that what you were looking for?

Not sure which 'ryu' you wanted... 流 can also mean style, to indicate the school one belongs to

Which means you can also have 龍流 'ryuryu' or the dragon style :)
