Hi,
we've just finished a beginner's course & as they're all buying their first gis, I've made a short video that explains how to tie the belt.

This method is pretty good as the knot ends up nice & flat, the belt doesn't cross over at the back & mine's never come undone on me.

The finished knot looks nice too. ;)

Hope you find it useful:

I do the same but the other way around - are you left handed ?
No offence that is !

This knot is great for long hours - though it is troublesome when doing iaido, you must be sure to tug the ends downwards when doing iaido, or else the end can get caught in a way that squeezes Saya to tight, to turn smoothly enough.

The last thing is when wearing a Hakama, which you should, doing iaido !

I tried your method for class yesterday, since I've never been able to keep the belt tied quite right, and it works great! Thanks for posting this for us.
