Jennifer....sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, but I was....er...delayed.

In any case, I hope you realize that the actual kanji is the lighter-colored figure in the middle and that the darker-colored portions on the left and right are someone's name...

Hope you don't get that whole thing tatooed on the back of your neck!

Careful out there!

Oh crap! Now you tell me.

The voice of experience. I have "ai" tatooed on the back of my neck:

"Ai rabu Tokyo."

The name sandwiching the "love" character is "Steve Carey/Caray/Carry".

Imagine having that on the back of your neck for life.

I once met a fellow who, when he put his two fists side-by-side, had S-C-O-T-L-A-N-D tatooed on his fingers.

I said, "Why do you have SCOTLAND tatooed on your fingers?"

He said, "I once put a tatoo on a friend of mine when he was drunk. Later, he got me drunk, and when I passed out, he tatoooed his name on my right hand. His name was Scot. And after that everyone kept saying, 'Hey, Scot!' and I kept having to say, 'My name's not Scot,' and they kept saying, 'Then why do you have it tatooed on your hand?' So I put L-A-N-D on my other hand just to shut'em up!'"

In fact, I think it was a Masonic thing, Scottish Rite and that.

Best to all.
