This seminar will focus on the use of bladed weapons, and their relation
to empty handed techniques. This seminar will cover:
Sword etiquette, carry and placement
Iai Jutsu (draws of the sword and knife)
Blade weapons fundamentals (the core skills of slash and thrust)
Flow drills/partner practice with bladed weapons (sword and knife)
Application of bladed weapons skills to empty-handed work
Meynard Ancheta is a unique instructor of Asian martial art styles.
He teaches both traditional forms, with an emphasis on the practical.
His training includes
5 years Yanagi Ryu Aiki Bugei with Don Angier at the Hombu Dojo in Long
Beach. Trained in Aiki Jiu Jitsu, Ken Jitsu, and Tanto Jitsu.
8 years with Tim Cartmell at the Shen Wu institute of martial arts
Studying Ba Gua Zhang ,Xing Yi, Yi Quan,
Tai Ji Quan, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (purple belt)
3 years in Pekiti Tirsia Kali, personally trained by Leo Gaje and Tim
Waid, Southern California representative for Pekiti Tirsia Kali Global
Fighting in Dog Brothers Gathering since 2002, member of the Dog
Mr. Ancheta has competed regularly in Brazilian jiu jitsu, MMA,
and with the Dog Brothers. Blending his traditional training with practical experience.
