Hi
I live in Hailey Idaho and I am interested in beginning to learn aikido. There is a dojo here, but I do not know anything about the sensei. Does anyone have experience with him? What should I look for in a dojo or a sensei? I am sure it is a matter of preference, but any suggestions would be helpful!
Thanks

Best suggestion I can make, especially since your choices appear to be limited, is to get in there and try a few classes. The instructor should be up front about his experience, and should have no problem telling you who his teachers are/were and to what organizations he/she might belong to. To be otherwise is a sure warning sign, but not necessarily hard evidence of deception or incompetence.

IMHO, it is best to start where you are with the resources available. A lot of people gather too much information and never end up on the mat.

1. Call, and speek to whoever answers about coming to class as a new student (gi, fees, schedule, etc)
2. Go.
3. Report back and we will rip your experience to pieces in this public forum....;)
