Ando Sensei's group is called "Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu" and he has numerous dojo within his group. He is a member of the Yoshinkan and was an instructor at the Honbu dojo until he left about 12 years ago to start his own dojo(s).

The dojo within the "Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu" group are yoshinkan dojo, but direct their affiliation through Ando Sensei rather than directly through the Honbu.

no, Ando Sensei has not branched off. His group is called "Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu", his style is Yoshinkan.

Yoshinkan Aikido Ryu is still closely affiliated to the Yoshinkan Honbu Dojo. Ando Sensei is still officially a Honbu dojo instructor and we follow the Yoshinkan Honbu Dojo syllabus for training and testing.
