Hi Guys,

I will be taking my 3rd Kyu (green belt) grading on Saturday afternoon. I've been oscillating between really nervous and apprehensive; and a little bit nervous and excited for about the last two months. I'm leaning towards excited at the moment but I don't want to get carried away with this.

Advise and encouragement much appreciated.

Just keep breathing, Amanda. Your instructor wouldn't let you test if he (or she) didn't believe you could pass.

Wait until the time of the test to start worrying about it. Of course, by then it will be too late.

Amanda,
I'm in the same boat. Testing for 2nd next Friday.
I agree that if sensei says you're ready to test, you are.
I often wonder what I'm worried about. What will happen if I miss some technique. Nothing, life will go on and you will not be told to leave the dojo. Ride it and enjoy the rush.

Congratulations. And because it's obligatory for someone to say and nobody has yet:

Now, get back to training. :D

I am slow to getting on the computer but myself and another tested on the other side of the "pond" for our Shodan. I know the apprehension was probably the same and left just as quick as it started. We can say that the 14th was a good day for many. Funny how "Ai" can be reached across the globe.
