Just curious how would you use ma ai in a sentence?
Is it maai, ma ai, Ma Ai, or MaAi?

The analogy I've always used for how time and space integrate for the concept of ma'ai is making a left turn off of a busy, multilane street: as the experienced driver approaches the intersection, she automatically gauges the relative distance and forward speed of all the oncoming vehicles. She decides whether to accelerate and turn, slow down and continue to assess, or stop and wait. This process is continually and automatically adjusted moment-to-moment until the turn is completed.

You know it’s funny I’ve been thinking about that recently. I have been learning how to longboard and have been using the concept of maai to avoid being hit by cars/hitting pedestrians. When I first set foot on him (I named him Tyler :)) I was always panicking and running into stuff because I just couldn’t relax. Now I’m starting to develop a feeling of when I need to drag my foot to come to a sudden stop, or when I can simply carve around obstacles. It is sort of like maai, just feeling what is the proper distance. IDK hard to put into words.

ma - distance ai - mutual (contextually in relation to distance)
example - issoku itto no ma ai and chiki ma
Both relate to the distancing between combatants
