Hi, I'm new to this forum and an Aikido newbie as well.
I a few years experience in other MA, but have been practicing Aikido for only 4 1/2 months.

Currently, I am preparing for my first test (5th kyu). Any advise would be greatly appreciated.:)

Practise your techniques against at least twice as much attacks than you have to demonstrate. So you will get a better base. Don't forget to train also Ukemi cos it's more important than you'd ever think. By the way, remember to practice the techniques with various partners ans ALWAYS both sides (right AND left). There are mor left-handed people all over the world than you'd ever think - and in the streets they are the most dangerous attackers of all.

Hope that these hints can help you.

Hi Domingo,

Welcome to AikiWeb. I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses about your test if you post more specific questions in a forum outside of the Introductions forum.

Hi guys, im new here in this forum, i practice aikido, unfortunately i did'nt have a chance to have a class training like everyone else. I loved aikido when I was still in highschool, from that time on I was asking some teachers to teach step by step basic techniques but in an informal session. some of my learned technics came from people who practice the art in dojo's and some from videos and movies. I practice the art with my imaginary partner,If im alone, I know it sounds crazy, but I dont have the time to go to a dojo to practice, since Im a full time office worker. all I need is more technique advices. thank you.
