Hi, I am Noelle, and I am from Haïti. I studied shotokan for thirteen years, and, when my school closed, I decided to wiew it as an opportunity to learn a martial art using a different approach to meeting an opponant. I only started in September, but, although I still practice my shotokan kata, I a very happy with the decision I made.
Students from my school (the only aïkido school I ever heard of in Haïti) who travel and train overseas all say that people are always flagerblasted to learn that aïkido is taught in Haïti. So I decided to join the forum, in order to ask questions and share ideas with fellow aïkidoists from all aver the world.
N.B. My english and my spelling are sometimes uncertain. Please forgive me.

Bonswah, Noelle. (My Creole and my spelling are sometimes uncertain. Please forgive me.;) )

I'm glad to hear that there's aikido in Haiti; I had no idea! My wife did some volunteer work down there in an orphanage a few years back. We have quite a few Haitians living in our area, so her conversational Creole still gets some use. I'd be really interested in hearing from you about what's going on down there; We don't hear too much about haiti from our news reporters.
