Hi, there. I have worked aikido for 1,5 years and now for I have moved to another place, I had to quit aikido. There is no aikido dojo here. But yesterday I learned that a new dojo was opened which they teach something called "Real Aikido". they claim that this is a little bit different from aikido. It is developed so that aikido could be much more practible in the street figthings. does anybody know or attend this art ? thanks

Anytime anyone says they improved X to make it better for X. I have to ask what their experience is in X. Thus I would want to know what qualifies then to improve aikido so that it would perform better on the street. Usually, its the same old stuff with more lectures about how it is on the street.

Other then that just go try it out. You have nothing to lose but your time.

They've been discussed on here before, quite recently as well. I believe they originate out of Yugoslavia. Use the search feature and look for "real aikido" or "real ni aikido", you should find a fair bit of info, including an old link from a couple of years back.
