View Full Version : Doka of the Day
" With the sakaki and the tuski
Purify the spirit.
The motherly parent of Izu
Is here in the workings (samuhara) of the Kami."
- Morihei Ueshiba
Any ideas what this means? What does 'samuhara' mean?

I don't know for sure about O'Sensei's meaning for the entire doka (much of his are pretty cryptic), but I think a context-applicable translation for "samuhara" might be "noble deeds" or "meritous deeds". I have seen references to both.
