Hi everyone. My name is...well they all call me Gigi, which is easier to say. I was born in Italy, but 5 years ago I transfered to Ponca City, a small town in Oklahoma.
I have been studying Tai Chi for the past year, but not as a form of martial art. I recently noticed the way Tai Chi looks alot like Aikido so I started looking into the Japanese Art.
I found a Sensei, which I soon learnt to respect as a wonderful instructor and person (Sensei Doug Hanson), and started training with him like 3 weeks ago.
I thought at first the softness of the two arts would have made things easier, but I admit that the body positions are pretty much different and kinda hard to learn (above all those elbows that keep going up  ).
Well, that is all for and glad to be in this community.
Hi Gianluigi,
Welcome to AikiWeb and thank you for your introduction.

Hello Gigi,
My name's Mike Reis and I live in Cheyenne, Wy. There are differences in the styles, but I think using you pushing hands drill would come in pretty well for a sense of flow. Any reason why aikido and not some other form of kung-fu?
Michael
