Does DVD-R format NTSC work in Europe?
I want to buy Ellis Amdur's ukemi video and wasn't sure. Has anyone else got it?
Thanks.

Depends on your tv and dvd-player.

Actually there are separate things you must verify.
First, be sure your DVD player handles "DVD-R" recordable DVDs, some older players don't like DVD-Rs...
Second, you must not worry about your TV, the ouput of your player is already PAL(or SECAM?)...I'm pretty sure the encoding of the data on the DVD has nothing to do with PAL or NTSC...(Your computer is neither PAL nor NTSC and can play DVDs right?)
Either way, if any of these two things causes problems, go get a new DVD player. I think nearly every player available now has the ability to switch between PAL/NTSC (Hell, my 5 years old TV can do it!) an can read any format (DVD, DVD+R, DVD-R,etc).
I already had some problems playing a DVD from Aikido Today (Saotome's Sword of Aikido DVD) on my player cause it was not encoded as a standard DVD but a AVI movie clip or something...Not a problem anymore!
So...bottom line, if you can play DVD-Rs you're set to go...
Enjoy your Ukemis :)
