Not to pee on the fire hydrant, but kotodama refers to the body's fascia responses to sound, pretty much like the cured rawhide drumskin responds to vibrations. An ancient idea.

Well, mantra's, "OM", Kiai, "healing sounds", kotodama, etc., all relate to the sound-fascia relationship. It's one of those areas where you begin to realize that there are really just a few basic principles in ki development, but a lot of variations on those themes. ;) "Drumming" on the body is also a fascia developer, BTW.
