Hi, I am totally new to Aikido, as a matter of fact, martial arts.
I am getting ready to join one of the Dojo in my area. But I would like to know, besides teaching you to learn how to drop on floor unhurt, does it also teach not to hurt the wrist? I know twisting wrist is a very common tactic in Aikido... will someone get hurts during session often?

Thanks.

It happens, but if everyone is careful your wrists will get stronger and more limber. If you've had wrist injuries in the past, make sure that your training partner is aware of your concern for safety. Enjoy your training! :)

As long as you and your fellow students have the attitude of helping each other learn and not competing to see who is stronger, faster, or better, the injuries will be minimal. :) Enjoy and make it fun.

i think you will also build up to the wrist pins as well, i would be very surprised if you start doing them for a little while yet, so much to learn before they make any sense.

welcome aboard i am sure you going to love it.
