Got your attention?
Hello all. My name is Leiv and I am another noob. I am originally from Chicago, IL but moved to Japan to be with my wife. My wife ,who has done aikido since she was in junior high school, has got me into it and I am thankful. It is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. I have only been at it for 8 months now so you probably won't be hearing much from me.

Hello,
I also live in Takarazuka, Hyougo. I have been here for almost a year. Where do you train? I train at Seibukan in Kobe. Maybe we could get together and train sometime.

Oh my God, there are other gaijin in this town!
I practice at the city sports center on Sundays (Tuesdays and Saturdays if I have time off). I live in Kougetsu-cho near Dai Ichi hospital. Where do you live? I would love to get together and train.

I live in Kawamo-cho down the hill from a hospital and Kiyoshikojin temple. I thought about training at the city sports center, its a satellite of Sanda dojo under Horii sensei if I'm not mistaken. Yah it would be great to meet another aikido person close by, you can PM me and we'll try to arange something.

If your still in school try and find an exchange program or something. Three things:
1) Although you can get by with just English, learn the language. I don't know where you are located in SoCal but El Camino college has a pretty good Japanese language course.
2) Don't hype it up in your mind too much because after the initial excitement of being here wears off, you will be let down.
3) Kansai is better than Kanto :yuck:

Me too! But I dunno about learning the language. French is bad enough! Japanese. . . :dead:
