I've lurked here for months, and thought I would introduce myself on the off chance that I actually have something worthwhile to add to any of the discussions. :) The thoughts and definitions posted here have helped me immensely in my introduction to this complex and enthralling art.
I have been studying Aikido for about six months now, and am preparing to take my 5th kyu test on Sunday. Prior to that, I trained in Capoeira for about two years. I reside in Monterey, California.
A pleasure to meet everyone!

Capoeira--what a beautiful art.
Man, how depressing would it be, though, to have a capoeirista back-handspring out of your KOTE GAESHI...

I once ducked underneath an iriminage by reflex... my sensei teased me for two weeks. :)
