Hello to everybody,
my experience of Aikido is still at the stage of a few trials.
The reason why I am approaching this discipline is to broaden my experience, that started a few years ago when I discovered to be able to aid a very ill friend in his last days by touching his arm and praying to pass over to him part of the energy, of the peace and of the happiness of the world. After finding out that this experience is called Reiki, I attended a first level seminar of Reiki and a three year Shiatsu course in Rome. At the same shiatsu school I also came across Seiki, and decided to attend a period of study in Japan with Okinobu Kishi Sensei, on the Oomoto Foundation grounds, where I had the opportunity to pay a visit to the tomb of Ueshiba Sensei.
There I also encountered Hiramasa Maeda Sensei, who developed a budo called Waraku, which in the opinion of experienced Aikido people bears some resemblance with old films of Ueshiba Sensei practicing his art.
Welcome to AikiWeb.
