Yesterday I found my 11 month old son sitting in pretty much correct seiza... and looking very comfortable (I don't look so in seiza for long).
I just thought... next year, should I expect something like: "Dad, let's play irimi nage?"
P.S. I didn't taught him, considering seiza to be okuden for him at this age... :)

I've seen this sort of behaviour in babies too!! And there's a logical explanation to it: japanesse ppl are very smart and always do things that are good for the body, and seiza is a natural and instinctive posture that is very comfortable if you are used to it since you are a child, and makes your back straight and your circulation flow great (if you distribute the weight and don't seat like that for too long, which's not negative 'coz it's bad to seat for more than 40 mins in any position or chair).
At home we eat on a short japanesse-like table :D
Just let your son keep like that, he's doing great :)

One of our dojo members had brought their 2 year old child to a seminar once and afterwards, we kept asking him to do "aikido" whereby the child would spin around and fall down. It was too cute.

Wow! If your baby can do that. Let your son keep it on! And if possible, has him do all the acrobatics movements and leg in 180 degrees open(forget what term for straight up the legs like this). Human body and muscle is most flexible and soft during this time. Try do it in your 40s now, and see how terrible it feel. :)
Someday, your boy may become an acrobatic atheletes? :)
