well I just saw that this journal has been viewed 344 times, amazing, and i thought you all didn't care!
Well it was a Wednesday class and I arrived around 18:15 and my buddy Rene was there waiting. I gotten changed into my still slightly pink Gi after a washing incident including a red sock from my fiancé, but what ever i am there for the Aikido not the fashion sense....not that I have any.
We started with a knuckles "warm up" that always leaves you sweating and panting like a dog with rabies. the Rolls and falls and turns.
Then the Sensei took over (We call him Yoda because he looks like a scruffy Dutch old guy but his Aikido is second to none IMHO) and as usual asked what we would like to do and as usual fast as lightning Raging bull shouts out "Ski and Tanto". To all the other long times dismay and upset. They all looked over to Raging bull and shouted that he is too fast with his answers and should consult the group, but I don't care as i understand him and he wants to learn what he thinks is important!
We then started with different kinds of Kotegaeshi bare handed and with Tanto with turning and straight movements.
It was a good lesson and I tried to stick with the people who i felt comfortable with doing the techniques as i knew that Kick boxer guy and raging bull and all the rest don't like to practice with "Us learners" on Wednesdays and you can tell from their technique and facial expressions and general demure.
I saw Kick boxer and Raging bull going at it hell for leather in the corner, to me this is defeating the purpose as it is dangerous and sloppy for techniques point.
I worked with "Spiritual guy" (Gave him that name but Rene and i have to christen him this) and I hate training with him as he hates me and Rene because we are foreign!
I figured out that when he tries to pin you show on your face that there is no pain and he hates it and also he hates it when you throw him hard, so I did ...repeatedly MWaa haa haaaaaa....
Any way,on a more personal note my father got his results and he is pretty bad and has to have chemo and have 24 pills a day...not so good but I have to stay positive for him and the family!
