As saintly as he was
He ate, he shat, he bled,
He pissed in the night
Young women brought him
Delight and trouble...
Mosquitoes whined in glee
When he sat under a full moon
Frozen icicles hung from him
In the winter
Sweat steamed from him
In the summer
Still, he harmed no one
And brought joy and comfort to some
In the shadow and shade
Of the ginkgo tree's
Whispering leaves - he died
Only the frogs cried
