TEST DAY!!!
Arrived early and played a little with Rick to warm up, and make sure that I was on the game so to speak! Then watched 3 other tests. The test was strange this time, it was again like there was no one there, just Rick and I. Sensei's disembodied voice calling techniques from the sidelines. I focused on what I was supposed to be doing. Several times throughout the test Rick and I were smiling at one another. He really likes my Tsuki Irimi Nage Direct entry! It was a good one too! Only mistake I made (Note that these are different than omissions due to level! J ) was doing Nikkyo Ura first and Nikkyo Omote second! Swuri Waza went well! I didn't even trip over my HAKAMA!!!! I was really worried about that as I had a training night on Thursday that all I did was pin myself to the mat with the darn thing in Swuri waza!
After the test was over M and I headed out to lunch and then back to the Dojo for a celebration of the dojos being open 16 years, and sensei practicing the art for 30 years. It was a good party. I was worried about it because I was one of the two organizers! It went really well though, and everyone seemed to have fun. I would guess that there were about 60 people maybe more there. There was plenty of food (Lots of left over!)
Came home tired and feeling good about it all! What a good day! 3rd Kyu!!!
After the test a number of people came up and told me how short a period I have taken to get 3rd Kyu in. This kind of amazed me. A lot of my Sempie did this. It made me feel good, I always think of the places in my test that I could have done better, (The hand change for Nikkyo!!!!! Etc…)
