Just came across an interesting article that highlights that when people try to swing a sword down with muscle all that they are doing is slowing it's terminal velocity.
It stated that one should try to let the sword achieve terminal velocity and then increase this with muscle in the correct direction.
I am not saying I know how to do this as I don't but food for thought
