I was one of the hundreds that travelled to Cardiff to attend the Doshu 2010 course.
It was a great privilege to train under Doshu, and despite the cramped mat conditions we all tried our best and enjoyed ourselves.

Then Sunday morning my regular class with Sensei Derrick (white rose aikikai) getting folks ready for the course and grading next Sunday so a lot of 5th Kyu basics, it's good to go back to basics.

Very busy on the mats at Doshu 2010 in Cardiff, but well worth attending. My wife trained on Saturday, as soon as she turned to the mats she was off, could not hear anyone calling her just focused on getting on the mat for more Aikido. She was delighted to have been one of the lucky ones to have taken uke from Waka Sensei and vowed never again to wash her Doji. In the interests of Health and Safety and she has since relented, only the belt will not be washed.

As you said the dojo was very full.Generally speaking I thought it was a good event.Saw some guys I had not seen for over 20 years so it was good to meet them again.Wasnt too fond of the price of beer at the Marriot Hotel.Left after buffet , hit the town and had a few laughs and drinks [almost half the price per pint compared to the Marriot].
