Monday night.
I actually overslept today... I know, I'm embarrased already when writing this, but I promised you an entry so I will tell you about my last training session which had a morale of it's own, so here goes.
Wednesday.
Last wednesday I arrived with a slight sleep deprivation and I hadn't eaten at all that day as I woke up 2 hours before training.
When I first arrived I met a member I hadn't met before and the senior instructor taught me how to tie a belt and a hakama correctly (not that I have a hakama yet :-)) and we started.
This particular instructor is known for his rigorous workout, and sure enough I was sweating like nobody's business.
When we did our stretches, both(!) my upper arms cramped up at once, and I had to loosen up before I could continue. After a set of squats and pushups I had to bow out and get some water, as I felt like I could pass out at any moment. Furthermore my ukemi and the first techniques I did looked and felt horrible, and I was corrected on constantly. The instructor even told me that I looked like Steven Seagal at some point. :-D I've been wondering when that remark would come, as I have long hair (no offense to Seagal, I'm sure he is very good)
So I guess the morale of this story is, as if you didn't know already, remember to eat and drink before each class!
Other than that, it was a good session, and I felt really grateful for all the help I received from the sempais
I have beginners class tomorrow, and I am really looking forward to it as this is the class where I seem to learn the most. And besides, I feel like I have to redeem myself for my last performance
