Crowdfunding for 2017 East African Seminar

Here is an Aikido crowdfunding campaign to support the 2017 East African Seminar. The team organizing the seminar consists of Richard Strozzi-Hecker, Lou Pollack, Tesfaye Tekelu, and Katina Bishop.
From the page: "The 2017 East African Seminar, a collaboration between Aikido Ethiopia and the African Union Peace Initiative will represent the first of its kind. Young African practitioners from Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Djibouti will have the unique opportunity to learn from world renowned international experts in Aikido, embodied leadership, somatic education, and conflict resolution."

I have written a book detailing my training and travels in Aikido over the past 37 years. It is called: "Blood, Sweat & Years". The book is a light-hearted account with a forward by Sensei Tony Sargeant, 6th Dan Aikikai.

All are welcome to join Oberlin Aikikai for the May Fair Seminar featuring Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan of Boulder Aikikai.
This year Ikeda Shihan will visit Oberlin College April 28-30th, 2017.
Ikeda sensei has been visiting Oberlin for more than 30 years teaching May Fair seminars and sharing his unique insight into Aikido. He travels around the world often participating in Bridge seminars that include teachers from other organizations and arts.
Keiko will be held at the Hales Gym, Oberlin College, 180 West Lorain Street, Oberlin, Ohio 44074-1016:
Friday, April 28, evening class at 7 - 9 p.m.
Saturday, April 28, morning class at 10 - 12 p.m., and afternoon class at 3 - 5 p.m.
Sunday, April 30, morning class at 10 - 1 p.m.
The seminar cost $140, or $40 per class.
Preregistration is advised and housing available in hotels nearby.

Event: Aiki Extension 2017 Conference - Call for Presenters

The 2017 Aiki Extensions US Conference will take place October 6-8 at Aikido in Fredericksburg, VA. The Conference Committee is seeking dynamic, qualified presenters to organize 60-minute sessions exploring the application of aikido in everyday life. AE is currently inviting presentation proposals through April 21.
The Conference Committee will announce the final schedule in May. Please put thought into your proposal as not all presentations will be accepted. Successful proposals will align closely with one of the Conference tracks: Peacemaking, Education, Business, Body & Mind.

Seminar: 13th Annual Potomac Aikikai Aniversery Seminar - 7/28-30, 2017

Would like to let everyone know that we are planning to have our (Potomac Aikikai) 13th Anniversary Seminar on Friday, July 28 - Sunday, July, 30, 2017. Asim Hanif Sensei will be out from Scottsdale Aikikai to join us for all there days of the seminar. We will have our 6th Annual Potomac Aikikai Pool Party on Sat, July 29th after training at the home of Ed Jones in Great Falls, VA. All participants are welcome to attend. Additional guest instructors will be announced in the coming weeks.
